Unregistered Financial Service Providers

The Bank of Tanzania is committed to safeguarding public financial well-being and ensuring that financial consumers have access to reliable and trustworthy financial services. As part of our ongoing efforts to protect financial customers, we are launching a Financial Consumer Alert (FCA) System.

Unregistered or unauthorized financial service providers pose a significant risk to the stability and integrity of the financial system. These providers may engage in fraudulent activities that can adversely harm consumer’s finances.

Therefore, the Bank invites the public as our partners in ensuring effective, sound and resilient financial sector. If you come across any financial service provider operating without a valid license or suspect suspicious conduct in the financial sector, please report it to the Bank immediately. Your information will help protect you and others in our community.

To report an unregistered financial service provider, please send an email to compliants-desk@bot.go.tz. You can provide details such as the name and location of the institution, along with any relevant information that can assist the Bank in taking appropriate action.

The FCA List will undergo regular updates based on information provided by the public, following thorough assessments of the reported service providers. The updated list shall be made available on the BOT website for public reference.
