The Governor of the Central Bank of Tanzania (BoT), Mr. Emmanuel Tutuba, has commended the efforts of the Watumishi Housing Investment (WHI) for their excellent work in implementing the housing plan for public servants and members of social security funds.
Governor Tutuba gave the commendation when he met with the Chief Executive Officer of WHI, Dr. Fred Msemwa, at the Bank of Tanzania offices in Dar es Salaam and discussed various issues related to the operation of the institution that was established in 2014.
The Governor stated that BoT recognizes and values WHI's contribution in improving the housing sector in the country and boosting the economy of the citizens. He emphasized that BoT, as the overseer of the financial sector, will continue to collaborate with WHI to enable the institution to achieve its goals and set plans.
Additionally, the Governor urged WHI to design various products to meet customer needs and collaborate with stakeholders in the financial sector to facilitate the availability of quality housing for public servants.
On his part, Dr. Msemwa stated that WHI takes pride in efficiently implementing the housing plan for public servants and members of social security funds with efficiency and quality.
He mentioned that WHI continues to construct affordable houses in various locations across the country, utilizing modern technology, and has successfully built 983 houses to date.
Dr. Msemwa added that WHI continues to provide education and encourage public servants and members of social security funds on the benefits of joining the investment funds managed by the institution.
He expressed WHI's belief that, through collaboration with BoT and other stakeholders, the institution will achieve its goals of delivering quality housing services to public servants and contributing to the country's development.
WHI oversees Investment Funds, including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) and Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), currently managing the FAIDA FUND.
