BoT awarded first prize for good governance and accountability

The Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has been awarded First Prize in the category of commercial and non-commercial organizations, as proof of its commitment to upholding high standards of good governance, transparency, and institutional accountability.

The award was presented by the Treasury Registrar’s Office and handed over to the Governor of BoT, Mr. Emmanuel Tutuba, by the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, during the opening ceremony of the Working Session of Board Chairpersons and Chief Executives of Public Institutions held in Arusha on 24th August 2025.

The criteria used in granting the award focused on the implementation of audit recommendations at a high level, receiving positive audit opinions, transparency in publishing financial statements, and a strong performance evaluation of the Board of Directors.

This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the management, staff, and leadership of the Bank of Tanzania in executing its mandate professionally and for the benefit of the Nation.
