BoT Governor meets the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt

Governor of the Bank of Tanzania, Mr. Emmanuel Tutuba, on July 23, 2024, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Tanzania, H.E. Sherif Ismail, to discuss various issues aimed at enhancing cooperation in the financial sector and the economy at large.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Tutuba stated that the Bank of Tanzania will continue to strengthen the existing cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt and the Egyptian government through various programs aimed at promoting economic growth between the two countries.

He noted that trade between Tanzania and Egypt has continued to improve due to the longstanding good relations between the two countries. Governor Tutuba added that the presence of many Egyptian investors in Tanzania is encouraging and presents opportunities to attract more investors from Egypt due to various investment opportunities available in Tanzania.

Furthermore, Governor Tutuba conveyed to the Egyptian Embassy delegation that the government, through the Central Bank, welcomes diverse investors in the banking sector to invest in Tanzania due to the financial sector stability and favorable investment environment in the country.

In response, Ambassador Sherif Ismail commended BoT for its contribution to managing the country's economy and pledged continued cooperation with the government in implementing various economically beneficial programs for both countries.
