Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, has commended the Bank of Tanzania for its robust supervision of the country's financial sector and its efforts in educating the public about financial services.
The Prime Minister expressed these commendations while visiting the pavilion of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) at the ongoing National Financial Services Week celebrations at the Sheikh Amri Abeid grounds in Arusha. He was welcomed by the Deputy Governor responsible for Financial Stability and Deepening, Ms. Sauda Kassim Msemo.
Ms. Msemo said that during the celebrations, BoT is educating the public about their rights from financial institutions as well as the responsibilities of citizens in using financial services.
At the Central Bank's pavilion, citizens have the opportunity to learn about economic and financial policies, investments in government securities, personal financial management including savings and loans, how BoT protect users of financial services, proper handling of currency notes, identification of security features, national payment systems, and how the Deposit Insurance Board protects customers' deposits in banks and financial institutions.
